Built by George E. Cole Construction Co., this bridge is located over Arkansas River. With a height of 955 ft, the bridge is the tallest one in the entire country. Earlier, it had a record of being the highest bridge of the world from 1929 to 2001. Although heavy vehicles are not permitted to go through the bridge, the place is a famous tourist spot with a breathtaking view of the river.
Completed in 2010 and situated above the Colorado River, it is the second-highest bridge of the country. The 900 ft tall bridge is also known for being the tallest arch bridge of the world. It is named after the famous politician and the governor of Nevada Mike O’Callaghan and former player along with a successful army man Pat Tillman.
The 876 ft tall bridge goes over the New River. This steel arch bridge opened in 1977 and has been functional since. It used to be the longest bridge with a single arch, but now it has been fourth in that category. The total length of the bridge is 3,030 ft.
Popularly recognized as Auburn Bridge or Auburn-Foresthill Bridge, this one goes over American River. The height is 730 ft, and the length is around 2,428 ft. Opened in the year 1973, the bridge has been featured in the 2002 movie XXX.
The 700 ft high bridge runs on the Colorado River. Built by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, the bridge got completed in 1959. It is a two-line bridge that carries the important route of US 89. The surrounding has a reddish view, thanks to its terrain.
Also known as Glade Creek Bridge, this bridge has a tie with the previous one as both of them possess the same height i.e. 700 ft. Named after the brave army man, a Medal of Honor recipient, Phil G McDonald, the bridge features in the list of the top 50 tallest bridges of the world.
This is around 565 ft tall and got completed in 1956. Awarded as the most beautiful steel bridge, this is locally known as a high bridge or gorge bridge. Due to the serenity and the ambiance, it has been shown in many movies like She’s Having a Baby, Wild Hogs, The Signal, Terminator Salvation, White Sands, Twins, and Natural Born Killers.
The height being 468 ft, this bridge falls in the category of truss arch bridge. It covers the Snake River, being located at Twins Falls. With a total length of 1,500 ft, the bridge is known for being a famous destination for doing B.A.S.E jumping.
The bridge has two spans, and the height is 470 ft. The steel bridge has two sections, while the older one has a total length of 834 ft, the new one is 909 ft long. The old bridge has been enlisted in the National Register of Historic Places.
The cantilever bridge is above Moyie River and a substitute of an older bridge. The length is 1,223 ft, but the height is 464 ft. Presently, the bridge is maintained by the Idaho Transportation Department.
